Boxing - Joksan Hernandez Defeats Ian Terry

WBC #14 super featherweight contender Joksan Hernandez (21-2, 14 KOs) destroyed Ira Terry (24-4, 14 KOs) with a big right hand in the first round on Saturday night at Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, Mexico. Time was 2:32.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (6-0, 5 KOs) punished veteran Jose Angel Beranza (33-19-2, 26 KOs) for six rounds - Beranza stayed on his stool after round six. Rated WBA #8 at super bantamweight, Rigondeaux dropped Beranza twice in round four and was in control all the way.
WBC female interim super bantamweight champion Jackie “The Aztec Princess” Nava (22-3-2, 11 KOs) knocked out María ‘Pantera’ Miranda (13-5, 8 KOs) in round four.
Lightweights Fernando Garcia (12-3-1, 8 KOs) and Byron Gonzalez (3-0-1, 3 KOs) battled to a six round draw.

2008 Olympic Gold Medelist Felix Diaz (7-0, 5 KOs) of the Dominican Republic easily dismantled 67 bout veteran Alex Perez of Cuba. The official time of the stoppage was 2:15 of round two. Diaz put Perez down early in round two and pounded him badly with a variety of punches until Perez’ corner-man stood on the ring apron and had the referee stop the fight.

Featherweight prospect Jesus Marcelo Andres Cuellar (13-0, 10 KOs) of Argentina unanimously decisioned countryman Miguel Leonardo Caceres in the 10 round main event. The heavy handed 23 year old Cuellar was the aggressor the entire bout with Caceres only looking to counter while moving side to side and tying up in close. Cueller tried hard to get the knockout in the 10th and final round but Caceres was very elusive and crafty. Though only 24, Caceres is a veteran of 47 fights and only has been stopped once.
