In the most expected rematch of the year for the WBO lightweight title - WBA Super World lightweight title, Juan Manuel Marquez defeated Juan Diaz by unanimous decision.  

Judges: Jerry Roth (116-112), Glenn Trowbridge (118-110), Patricia Morse Jarman (117-111), all for Marquez.

In February of 2009, Marquez  came from behind to score a ninth-round knockout of Diaz in their first meeting, which wound up being chosen the Fight of the Year by the Boxing Writers' Association of America.

In a clash for the WBO middleweight title vacated by Sergio Martinez, Dmitry Pirog (17-0, 14 KOs) scored a spectacular fifth round knockout over the previously unbeaten “The Golden Child” Daniel Jacobs (20-1, 17 KOs).

Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (28-1-1, 18 KOs) survived a tenth round knockdown to win a ten round unanimous decision over former mentor Joel Casamayor (37-5-1, 22 KOs) in a junior welterweight clash.

Jorge Linares (29-1, 19 KOs) got a ten round unanimous decision over Rocky Juarez (28-7-1, 20 KOs) in a lightweight matchup.

In the IBF super middleweight eliminator, Sakio Bika (28-4-2, 19 KOs) was disqualified in the first round of his bout with Jean Paul Mendy (29-0-1, 16 KOs). Bika knocked down Mendy - while Mendy was still on one knee Bika knocked him out cold with an uppercut.

Unbeaten junior welterweight prospect Frankie Gomez (5-0, 5 KOs) beat Ronald Peterson (2-3, 2 KOs) in 2:14.
