Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia defeats Paul "The Headhunter" Buentello via knockout (punch) at 4:57 of round two.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia earned his most significant victory in almost three years Saturday night, defeating Paul Buentello on the War on the Mainland card in Irvine, California.

In the first round Sylvia was getting the better of the punching exchanges and forcing Buentello into corners, where Buentello would tie Sylvia up. Buentello's tendency to hold onto Sylvia led referee Big John McCarthy to separate the fighters on three different occasions in the first round, a round that Sylvia definitely won.

Diego "El Nino" Garijo defeats Jens "Little Evil" Pulver via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:08 of round one.

Terry Martin defeats Jorge "The Naked Man" Ortiz via split decision (29-28, 30-28, 28-29).

Gustavo "Ximu" Machado defeats Rick Reeves via split decision (30-27, 27-30, 29-28).

Erin Beach defeats Joao Silva via unanimous decision (30-25, 29-28, 29-28).

Cleber Luciano defeats Todd Willingham via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:18 of round two.

A.J. Matthews defeats Sean Choice via submission (strikes) at 3:54 of round two
