AIBA President Seeking Re-election

The President of the International Boxing Association Dr Ching Kuo Wu, which is the ruling Body for Olympic Boxing will be standing for re-election at the AIBA Congress, which will be held in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, on November 1 – 2 this year.

Dr. Wu is also the Chairman of the "World Series Of Boxing" a professional boxing franchise that allows Olympic Boxers to compete professionally without head-guard or vest and judged with the ten point system, without losing their Olympic- Status.

 

In a letter to all AIBA national member federations Dr Wu has confirmed that he will stand for re-election at the AIBA Congress, which will be held in the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, on November 1 – 2 this year.

"I am proud of what I have achieved as AIBA President," he wrote. "I have indeed given my best efforts to elevate the sport of boxing to one of the top sports in both International Sport and within the Olympic Movement."

Citing the World Series of Boxing and the AIBA Academy as examples of the revolutionary work that has been accomplished within AIBA over the past four years, Wu's letter continued: "I truly believe that I have done enough ground work to pave all foundations for AIBA and the sport of boxing during the last 4 years to leap for another level to achieve the true mission of AIBA thus “To govern all levels of boxing worldwide". Therefore, I have decided to run again for the AIBA Presidency as I believe I could well serve another 4 years to draw together with you more great successes in all areas."
