Philip Goes For Gold

Philip Galea, of the St Julian’s Boxing Club has made it to the finals of the “Haringey Box Cup”
Earlier this afternoon, Galea beat, Matteo Agugiaro of “Brighton City Boxing Club” with an unanimous points decision.
Philip entered the ring, exulting confidence and determination, from the word go Galea went into the offensive, constantly moving in and out - using a simple one – two combination, which shook the Brighton City boxer and never gave him a chance to settle down and get back into the fight.
In the third round, Galea’s never relenting pressure found its mark and Aguagiaro was rocked mid way through the third round with a tremendous right to the head from Galea.
The judges had no difficulty in awarding an unanimous decision to the Maltese boxer.
Peter Kahout – 69 KG lost his bout with, Luke Copper of the “Oak Mead Boxing Club on points.
In comments to - Malta Boxing News – Coach, Julian Borg said “I am absolutely delighted with the performance of the boxers” – “Philips single minded attitude and courage made up for his lack of experience and got the desired results” regarding, Peter Kahout’s performance he said “Peter gave a good account of himself, he needs more experience, this is all part of the learning curve”.
St Julian’s Boxing Club – President, Steven Charles Abela in comments to Malta Boxing News said “The boys have been training hard, Philip’s single minded determination is very evident during training, once he get’s going he is like a steam roller – He never gives up”.
Tomorrow: Sunday the 20th of June will see three Maltese Boxers in action at the, Haringey Box Cup – Finals – Zak Farrugia, Haithem Laamouz and Philip Galea. All will be competing for first and second places.
